I am always learning and growing. I've been teaching yoga classes full-time since early 2011 and have expanded to offer retreats and trainings and essential oil wellness. My hope is to create sustainability in your yoga practice, in my business and in the world.
My favourite part about my job is when a student feels a sense of relief or release after a yoga class - I can see the difference in their whole being.
I offer clear, straightforward instructions with a dose of insight and playfulness. Yoga is serious business, but we don't have to take ourselves so seriously! Though, I am serious about anatomy and alignment and functional movement. I have a background in biology and psychology (I have a BSc from Wilfrid Laurier University) and lots of experience of how we move our bodies. Especially if you're dealing with an injury - I will be able to tell straightaway - and we can work together to address the issue.
When you focus your attention on wellness and yoga, you can drastically change your life.
One thing I’ve learned in my world travels (I've been to over 35 countries) is that we are more similar than we are different. We all want to be healthy, give our kids the best opportunities and make a difference in the world. Yoga is all about union - uniting mind and body, uniting breath and movement. When we practice yoga, not only do we create more harmony in our bodies, but also unite with the world.
My favourite word is “magical” and I try to use if often!
I am a genuine "people person" and am happiest around people - whether that's on the yoga mat, chatting oils or having drinks after class! Connecting with people is how I live my yoga and create community. I hope to see you soon, on your mat!
